Augusta News: Family Court Misconduct Exposed

Ongoing Investigations Are Needed:

Reporter Nick Lulli, while at Fox 54 in Augusta, went the 1000 extra miles to investigate and cover child custody cases exploited by court professionals who put profit over protection – – behaving as if laws do not matter and as if the needs of children are not their concern. Good parents have been tossed aside, property stolen, rights ignored, and evidence suppressed. This is what it is like Outside the Gates of Augusta National.

My Advocate Center and the Augusta group of parents and professionals are calling for a formal review of cases manipulated by the GAL Doug Nelson along with others profiting from his misconduct, or from similar issues on other cases. Many months have passed and so far neither the courts nor law enforcement have decided to investigate or consider the damages to parents and children.

This misconduct is certainly not unique to Augusta, Georgia, and did not originate in Atlanta, but the cases we have analyzed and reported on are a good place to start. The issues reported on in Augusta are consistent with what we’ve found in counties in and around Atlanta, and in the Coweta Judicial District.

When you picture these courthouses you do not expect them to be such dangerous places, where our laws and available evidence/testimony are ignored. Our point is that the needs of children are cast aside, destabilizing children and families, worsening their health and ability to function as they might be able to otherwise. There is no reason for us to not work to interrupt these bad practices, especially when there are talented professionals available to help.

Contact us to report damages caused by court-appointed custody experts, and SIGN this petition to support the formal review of these cases where we have identified clear professional misconduct or judicial abuse.

As long as we have a constructive discussion and return our focus to public safety and to restoring the public trust in the legal system, we can shift this conversation in the right direction. We are educating the public about how to engage more efficiently and safely with our legal system. In the process, families are learning that there are many talented professionals available to help, ones who are committed to adding value and to reducing the use of foul play tactics and abusive litigation.

On Pro Advocate Radio we have engaged talented professionals committed to adding value and to serving families well, and this is having a positive impact on both consumers and professionals. More families are being positioned to preserve their resources for their children and for their own futures, and as we expand this mission more children will experience the best of both of their parents and extended families.
